Currently Loving - My Five Top Beauty Picks

Currently, I have been rediscovering some old beauty favourites of mine and since I have decided not to do favourites posts this year, I thought I could put a few of them into a currently loving post. I do want to do more like this in the future but maybe not all of them having beauty theme, we'll see how it goes. For today though, I have chosen a few makeup products, that I wanted to share with you.
This is actually not a rediscovery but it is a new beauty purchase. I have been recommended the Superdrug Vitamin E Hydrating Mist a lot and I finally got round to picking up about a month ago and since then, I have been using this constantly. I love face mists like this because you can use them in your skincare routine to add a little hydration, or use them as a prepping spray before your makeup or even use it as a setting spray for your makeup if you want a dewy finish. At the moment, I have been using it a lot to set my makeup with as it is now coming into spring and I do like a really dewy finish. This spray is great because it is not super greasy and the spray itself distributes the product really nice also. This is going to be with me all throughout the warmer seasons (if it ever gets warm in England) as it is super refreshing. It is also really affordable and cruelty-free so you just can't go wrong, and in general, I love Superdrug's Vitamin E range, it is amazing for the price point.
I have rediscovered the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer, and I have fallen in love with it all over again. I say this everytime, but it is not in my perfect shade, never the less, I love the undertone of this because it cancels out the darkness underneath my eyes. I do team this with a thicker, lighter concealer, but this helps to thin it would and also keep my under eyes hydrated. Recently, I have also found that this shade, in particular, is great for spot concealing for me as well, and since the coverage is great, I can spot conceal perfectly with this. I love to blend this out with a sponge and I find that I get enough coverage and no creasing. This is a bit pricey for a concealer but I do think that if you have dry skin that is prone to creasing, then this is a great concealer.
At the moment, I have really been loving eyeliner and while I have been experimenting around with a few colourful ones, my current favourite has been the Lottie London AM to PM Kohl Liner in Smoke. This is actually a dark grey liner, which I didn't think I was going to enjoy but actually, I love the way it looks. When you swatch it, you can obviously tell that it is grey and not black but on the eyes, you can't really tell the difference, which I don't mind at all. What I love most about this liner is how easy it is to apply, it is so creamy and it is as if it just melts as soon as you apply any pressure. This liner looks lovely on the upper lash liner smudged out, or on the waterline, either or, both ways last a long time and you get maximum pigment. I definitely want a few more shades of this.
As for highlighter, I have really been leaning towards a more golden tone because I am a little bit tanned at the moment and so recently, I have been using my TheBalm Mary Loo Manizer Highlighter again. I forgot how much I love this highlighter, it just makes your skin look so gorgeous and the shade is perfect for my skin tone at the moment. This applies beautifully on the skin and it doesn't look super glittery on the skin. I have been applying this everywhere recently as I don't really care about my texture right now, I just want to glow, and this product makes me do that.
I have also been getting into glow at the moment when my hair is tied up of course but in particular the Bare Minerals Buttercream Gloss in Groovy. This is a beautiful nude pink shade, and it looks amazing with any lipstick underneath. I have recently been wearing this over any matte liquid lipstick that I just want to lighten up a little bit. This gloss is quite thick but it is so super glossy and wet looking which I love, you also get quite a bit of pigment which I like, just to lighten up the colour of my lipstick underneath a little. I also really love the long applicator as it is quite flexible and it distributes the product really evenly.

Let me know whether you liked this style of post and also let me know what you have been loving recently too in the beauty department!

A Spring Peachy Makeup Look

Recently, I have been loving just playing around with makeup. I love that kind of phase because I feel like that is when my makeup looks the best. I do apologise if you like my makeup looks because I have posted a few recently, but I do have other ideas in the works right now so hopefully there will be something different going up soon, but for now, I thought I would just share with you this makeup look. This isn't going to be chatty just because I don't want my techniques and application tips to be too repetitive, so if you have read my previous makeup look (linked here), the application is very similar to that. Never the less, I hope you like this look, it is a little bit different for me with all of the pinks and purples but I actually love how it turned out.

Gold Cut Crease & OOTD

It has been a while since I have had the chance to play around with my makeup but with it being mothers day last week, I decided to get a little glammed up for a meal with my family. I initially didn't have an intention for this look but it turned out to be quite a dramatic gold cut crease. To go along with the makeup, I also thought that I would add in the outift I wore with it. I am going to talk you through the look so I hope you like what I came up with.
Before I get into the makeup, I do just want to keep everything transparent with you. Although I am cruelty free when it comes to my beauty products now, I still own products in my collection that were tested on animals. Once purchasing, the damage has already been done and so I don't want to waste the product as I think that is just as bad as buying it in the first place. I could have lied about the products I have used as well, but I do want to keep my blog honest so I hope you can all respect that this is not a cruelty free makeup look but if you do want alternative products for what I am using that are cruelty free, then leave me a comment and I will reply to you with an alternative for whatever you suggest. I will also put a * next to any product in this makeup look that is tested on animals, just so that you know.

I think we have all already established that I do my makeup in a weird order, but like every other look, I started out with my primer. Since I wasn't going to be wearing this makeup for too long, I just primed with my Primark Primer Water, which is super lightweight and does the job in a really quick and easy manner. I did want to go in with another primer over my t-zone though, just to help smooth out my pores and control my oil and for that I used the Freedom Pro Mattify. This primer has a very silicone texture to it, but it really does make your skin feel so flipping soft.
Recently, I have been doing my brows a little differently, and by different, I mean applying the brow gel before any of the powders or pomades. I don't know why, but I have found that by setting the brows hairs down first and then going in with my powder or pomade, my brows just look and last a lot better. I also find it easier to apply product over brows that have gel in them. Anyway, I definitely recommend giving that a try, but for my brow gel, I used the Collection Clear Mascara. As for filling them in, I used the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade in Taupe. This pomade is great and in this case, I used it with quite a light hand that just made my brows look that extra bit more defined.
To carve out my brows, I used the Rimmel Lasting Finish Concealer* and just one a small brush, went around the edges of my brow just to conceal any mistakes or messy areas. That concealer though, on its own, tends to crease if I wear it as an eye primer so I used the Mac Painterly Paint Pot* just to prime my lids. I then set my lids with a L'Oreal Pressed Powder* just to mattify the area and create a smooth base for my eyeshadow.
For eyeshadow, I played around with the Huda Beauty Warm Obsessions Eye Shadow Palette as I love the shades in this palette and the formulation is beautiful to work with. I started off with a light brown shade just to act as my transition shade. I buffed this all throughout my crease and making sure that it looked completely seamless before going in with my next shade. I then used the orange shade in this palette, again in the crease, but this time keeping it focused further down than that first shade. Once again though, I kept blending it until I was happy with the gradient. I then used the shade in the bottom right-hand corner of this palette, which I would describe as a brick red shade, and this went in the outer half of my crease and also on the outer corner. As you have probably gathered, this look took a lot of blending, which is exactly what I kept doing with this brick red shade. To get to the colour I wanted, I did have to do some building and blending and building and so on but that's what made this look fun. Anyway, I did want something darker in my outer corner, so I used a bit of that dark purple shade in the palette, just right on that outer part of my lid, and I then blended that in slightly to the other shades in the crease. I then cut the crease, which I am still trying to perfect but I did just use that same concealer I used to carve out my brows. The one thing I would say about carving out your eyelid is to just take your time and do it step by step because the last thing you want to do is ruin your crease that you have worked so hard on. Once I was happy with the shape of my lid on both eyes, I then set that concealer with the matte ivory colour in this palette and then used a tiny crease brush just to help soften the harsh edges as I didn't want it to look super sharp, more like a faint cut crease. I then tried to apply the gold shade in this palette on the lid, but I quickly learned that it didn't really work with a brush, but then again, you probably didn't need a base for this look, I was just experimenting with the formula. This is when the star of the show comes in. To create this really intense, gold, glitter cut crease, I used the Collection Glam Crystals Liner in Funk. This was super easy to apply and suprisingly it was super opaque, which I honestly wasnt expecting. I did do a few layers of this because I wanted it to look super extra and intense, I also dragged some of the glitters further than where I had cut the crease, just on the top, so that it gave a bit of detail to the look.
I then just applied some mascara, which you have probably guessed, is the Collection Volumax Mascara in Waterproof.
Moving onto the face, I mixed the Maybelline Matte and Poreless Foundation* with the LA Girl Pro Coverage White Foundation as I am a little darker than what I usually am right now. I just applied this all over my skin with a damp sponge. For concealer, I mixed the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer and the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer just to get my perfect colour and also coverage. With my concealer at the moment, I have been leaving it a little longer than usual so that it dries and maximises the coverage. I don't let it sit for too long, just for about half a minute and then I blend it in with that damp sponge once again. Straight after, I decided to bake with the RCMA No Colour Powder. Personally, I can't let this sit for too long as it can leave a white cast, but I make sure that it has set the concealer before brushing it off. Before setting the rest of my face though, I decided to cream contour with the LA Girl Pro Conceal Concealer in Toast, which is a huge favourite of mine. Once I have blended this out though and I am happy with how it looks, I then set the rest of my face and also bake under where I applied the cream contour just so it is really sharp.
For powder products, I decided to set the cream contour down with the Benefit Hoola Bronzer*. I then warmed up the perimeters of my face with the Makeup Revolution Pro Bronze Bronzer, just with a really fluffy brush for an overall bronze. Since I was wearing quite a low top as well, I also brought this down my neck and chest too so that all of the colours matched. For blusher, I kept it super simple with the neutral shade out of the Makeup Revolution Blush Goddess Blush Palette, just with a super light hand. For highlighter, I wanted something super bold, so I used the two lightest shades out of the Ofra X Nikkietutorials Everglow Highlighter as a base on the cheekbones, above the browbone, the tip of the nose and the cupids bow, but then just to add a little more, I used the golden shade out of the NYX Strobe of Genius Highlighting Palette just on the highest points to really make up the look pop. I also applied this shade onto my inner corner and my brow bones to tie up the eye makeup.
Finally, for lips, I lined them with Mac Oh Honey Lip Liner*, it's a pretty standard shade but just the first one I grabbed. For liquid lipstick though, I used the Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in I'm Nude which is a really neutral, pale nude shade that is nothing like any others in my collection.
To finish off the whole look though, I set my face with the Superdrug Vitamin E Hydrating Mist to help all of the powders melt into the skin.

As for my outfit, I kept it so super simple with this grey vest bodysuit with white piping around the edges, which is from Pretty Little Thing. I then paired it with the Topshop Blue Jamie jeans, which I just find super flattering, and I really love the colour of them. As for shoes, I wore plain white trainers and I also wore a black leatther jacket as we are no where near summer in England just yet. Also in case you are wondering, the watch is Michael Kors and the necklace is Tiffany's.
Let me know what you think of this makeup look and outfit, also don't forget to comment incase you want any alternatives for the makeup I have used that was tested on animals.

It has been a while... just an update

(my incedible friend took this picture, her insta is @izzykxte, send her your love)

It almost felt weird opening up Blogger and clicking "new post" because it feels like I have forgotten what is like to be a blogger. A bit dramatic I guess as I am writing a blog post right now but it really has been a while since writing a post for me, but the longer I was leaving it, the harder it became trying to get the words out.
I just wanted to write a little update post today because there has been a lot going on in my life and some changes I want to make in the future, so I am sorry that this is no wishlist or makeup look but hopefully this will explain some unanswered questions.
2018 has started off pretty hectic for me and I think most people can say the same, but I really didn't anticipate how busy I would be. I have made it pretty clear, hopefully, that I am in my final year of high school and so this is when the hardwork really starts to kick in so it's all about getting me through until July as that is when I will be done with GCSEs! What I didn't expect though, is for my brain to run on a constant, school only mindset and becuase of this my blog has suffered massively. Recently I have been critised a lot by the people closest to me about the fact that all I do is school work and revise, and maybe I didn't see it, but it has been taking up most of my time. Saying that, I have been waiting to sit these exams since I started my eductaion at the age of 4 and now I am finally here, I want to do thm properly. It has came to my attention recently, that I definitely put too much on my plate and I am care too much about the things that don't really mean anything and as much as people want to change that about me, I don't want to change that side of me. My motivation and drive is something I am proud of and I hope I never loose it.
With all of that being said, I am trying to find a balance between work and lesuire, something I am only really just learning now. Majoirty of my time will still be put towards my education and passing my exams but I also don't want my blog to take a huge back seat while I do that. I am not promising that there will be a post every week of there will be a set schedule because that pressure is something I could really do without but I do want new content on my blog fairly often.
Speaking of content, I am really struggling with that side of my blog at the moment, which you could say is also why I haven't posted. Since I first started my blog, it has primarily been based around beauty and makeup, as much as I love beauty and all that it has done for me, I want my blog to be more than just makeup. Then again, I don't want to dissapoint anyone who comes onto my blog for the beauty tips and makeup reviews so I really need you guys to help me out. Nothing is set in stone yet, but I would like to do more fashion posts, like styling tips and OOTDs, also a little bit of health and fitness as that is also a growing passion of mine. As much as I do want to make my blog an all round blog, I don't know what any of you would want to see from me, so I would really appriciate it if you could comment on this post, or message me what your thoughts are on what I have just said. Currently I feel like I can't write a book review because it should be a makeup review but I don't know whether it is all just in my head. I am not thinking of not posting beauty posts ever again but as I am in exam season and my final year of high school, makeup looks are not on the ageda but revsion is and I don't know whether it would benefit anyone if I made blog posts all about education and exams.

I massively appologise for the state of this post but I just wanted to get something up to prove I am still here!
Have a great week!

Current Palette Lovin!

Oh how I love a good palette but honestly, it has taken me a while to build the collection I have today. I have been building my makeup collection over the past few years and I have had my fair share of flops in terms of palettes but with that, I have also found a few gems too. As of right now, I probably have too many for my little face but I don't really care because each one in my collection is one I either love or am testing out. I have also been trying to step out of my little comfort zone recently and use products that I should reach for but don't enough and so I am going to share some of them today because I have been reminded how good they really are.

I had an obsession with the Too Faced Sweet Peach Eye Shadow Palette when I first got it but slowly I started to use it less and less. When I felt a little uninspired the other day, I pulled out this palette and created a look I actually really loved. This palette contains the necessary neutrals but also a lot of these unique pinks, purples and greens which is super fun to have. As for the formula, I love these shadows. The mattes are so pigmented and they blend beautifully and as for the shimmers, they apply nicely and look super metallic on the lid. I like to apply the shimmer shades wet but I do that most of the time because I find that it is that bit more smooth to apply and it also causes less fall out. This palette is a little steep in terms of price but if you know you are going to wear these sort of shades then I would definitely say you should buy it because the quality is there.
You might have seen this recently in that matte purple eye look I created (linked here) which I used the Huda Beauty Warm Brown Obsessions Mini Palette in, but I am still playing around with it a lot and I'm gathering some final thoughts which makes sense as to why I am using it so much. I love the colour scheme of this palette, it is pretty standard for me in terms of the warm tones but quite a few of these shades, I don't own in any other palette which makes this palette super unique to me. Even though I plan on doing a whole in depth review, so far, I do really like what I have tried from this palette.

The final eye shadow palette I have to mention is one I have been grabbing recently when I have been in need of a really metallic eyelid shade, the Wet N Wild Walking On Egg Shells Trio. This comes with three beautiful shimmer shades that I look amazing with a wet brush as it gives such a beautiful metallic finish. I tend to reach for the two lighter shades most because I like a lighter shade on the lid. This palette has been in my collection for so long and I always forget about it but every time I use it, I love it. This trio is all I need with a few matte shades in the crease, I also really love the highlight shade, not only on the lid, but also on the skin to highlight.
As for another highlighting palette, the NYX Strobe Of Genius Illuminating Palette has been one of my go to highlighters recently. These shades are so super metallic and pigmented and the shades in this palette are so wearable but there are also some really fun colours. This palette is fairly new in my collection and I have been testing it out recently and it turns out that I really like it. I do find that I mix a few shades for my perfect colour but on the skin it can look so beautiful and metallic looking. I don't think I have ever had a full highlighting palette before but I really do like this one and I am super impressed with its quality, definitely recommend.

The final palette I have to mention is the Makeup Revolution Blush Palette in Blush Goddess which has been a solid favourite of mine for a while but I just always neglect it. Even though this is a blush palette, it comes with four blushes and four highlighters. The highlighters are nice but I do find myself going into this palette for the blush colours. They are all matte and in really wearable shades. I find that they look so great on the skin with every look but I also love wearing them on the eyes when I fancy something more warm, which is most of the time.

Do let me know what palette you recommend most in your collection, I would love to know.

Berry Pink Cut Crease - Valentines Makeup Look

Happy and single over here but that definitely doesn't mean that I can't pretend I have a romantic occasion to get ready for. Considering February is the month for love, I though I would do this pink, cut crease very much Valentine inspired. I had so much fun creating this look and playing around with some new colours so let me know what you think I should do next.

I am so boring when it comes to my brows, but I wanted this makeup to last all day so I firstly set my brows with some Collection Clear Mascara. This has became a new hack in my makeup routine, by putting on your brow gel first, you get more pigmented and longer staying power with whatever you apply on top. I just let that dry down slightly and then I use the Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade in Taupe. Less is more with this product, so going back and forth between a spoolie and the product on a small angled brush, taking my time really helps to build up the colour and shape until I am finally happy.
With the Hard Candy Glamoflauge Concealer on a flat brush I am just cleaning up the mess I made when filling in my brows and also dragging that concealer onto the eyelids to act as a primer for the shadow going on top. I am then just setting down that concealer with the NYX Whipped Cream single eye shadow, to create a black canvas so that all of the shadows on top blend well.
To start off the eye shadow I am taking Makeup Geek Beaches and Cream and just putting that into the crease to start defining the eye. I am then starting to build it up with the Freedom Sweet Life shadow which is a little darker and warmer, but I am putting this shade in the exact same place as my first one. I then start to blend it above the crease slightly so that when I apply the darker colours, these base shades help create a gradient. With Makeup Geek Cupcake, I am going to start building up the colour in the crease. I go back and forth between Cupcake and Beaches and Cream just to make sure they seamlessly fade into each other, but I do still want to pink shade quite prominent in the crease so this step does take some building up in order for the next few colours to stand out. In the depth of the crease and in the outer corner, I am taking Colourpop Making Moves on a small crease brush and being really precise when applying it. This shade is the most beautiful berry pink shade, and it is this shade that I think makes this entire look. I do really make sure that I take the time to blend this into the crease but not too high that it interrupts those first few shades. This shade does take a while to build up to that bright pink shade I want, and I am also packing it onto the outer corner, and blending out the edges slightly, so that when I cut the crease it has something to blend into. Speaking of cutting the crease, I am using the Hard Candy Glamoflauge Concealer once again on a very small, flat brush and cutting the crease. I am not great at this but my best piece of advice is to just not rush it, and  also make sure that both eyes are as similar as possible. Before I go into that shimmery lid shade, I am setting down that concealer with the NYX Whipped Cream eye shadow again just so that I can clearly see where I need to place the next few shades. For the lid, I am mixing Makeup Geek Grandstand and Makeup Geek Luna which are both foiled eye shadows, very similar in colour but I just wanted to use them both. I am just packing these two shades on that area I carved out with a damp, flat brush just to help me ensure that I get a sharp edge. I am then just taking a bit more of Colourpop Making Moves and softening the edges. With Makeup Geek Bitten, I wanted to try and deepen the outer corner a little bit more so on a small, dense eye brush, I am just packing this very closely onto the lash line.
The eyes is where the attention is in this makeup look, so to bring a little more definition, I am using the Lottie London AM to PM Kohl Liner in Smoke to tight line my eyes. This is a new product for me but I am loving it because it is so smooth and creamy to apply. Finally for the eyes, I am just adding a coat of the Collection Volumax Waterproof Mascara on my upper and lower lashes.

Starting with the face, I am taking the Primark Primer Water and just peeping my skin with that. After allowing that to sink in, I am taking the Freedom Pro Mattify primer and I am focusing this product on my t-zone just to ensure a smoother application with my foundation. For foundation I am mixing the LA Girl Pro Coverage Foundation in Fair and White just to get my perfect shade, and I am blending this in with a damp sponge. For cream contouring I am using the LA Girl Pro Conceal Concealer in Toast and again, blending that in with a damp sponge. To clean up the contour, I am taking the RCMA No Colour Powder and just packing that under the contour so that I have a really defined contour. For the cheekbones though, I am taking the Iconic London Liquid Illuminator in Original and just using a little bit to act as a base for my powder highlighter. I like to do the cream contouring and highlighting before my actual concealer so that I can powder my whole face right after setting my concealer, if you know what I mean. Anyway, for concealer I am using the LA Girl Pro Conceal Concealer in Porcelain under my eyes, on the centre of my forehead and a little on my chin. I once again, blend this out with a damp sponge and I set it straight away with the RCMA No Colour Powder. This powder can leave a white residue so I do brush it off quite quickly, but with the excess, I just take it over my whole face just to set down any creams.
I am then bronzing with the Makeup Revolution Pro Bronze Matte Bronzer on a big fluffy brush just to give myself an overall golden finish. For blush, I am mixing the two berry shades out of the Makeup Revolution Blush Goddess Blush Palette and applying that onto my cheeks just to give my skin some colour which will flatter the eye shadow. Finally for skin, I am using the NYX Strobe of Genius Highlighting Palette and mixing the two lightest shades in the biggest pans together. I am applying this onto my cheekbones, cupid's bow, tip of the nose, brow bone and also on the inner corners of my eyes.
For lips, I wanted something that would flatter the eyes but not over power the look as a whole. I am starting with the LA Girl Lip Liner in Mauve and just outlining my lips but also starting to fill them in slightly and then with the Too Faced Melted Matte Liquid Lipstick in Child Star, just filling in the rest of my lips and allowing them to dry down to a matte finish.

I am super happy with how this look turned out, let me know what you think!

Missguided Clothing Wishlist - A Whole Mixture

You all really seemed to love my last wishlist blog post, which I will link at the end of this post, but I really wanted to do another but instead of makeup, I wanted to do a fashion wishlist. If you think my makeup wishlist is long, then I have no idea what you are going to think of my fashion one, but basically, it is so big that I have to separate it into brands. That leads us into today's post which is just going to be a Missguided wishlist post. Missguided is definitely one of my favourite shops as I love their style and products but also the quality and for such a small price, I think they are brilliant. Some of these pieces have been out for ages and some are in the new in page so it is a nice mix and hopefully, if you have a similar style to me, you might find something you like.
White Peached Shirt Dress
I am starting with a super basic piece but one I have had my eye on far ages and that is just a white shirt dress. So many people have been wearing pieces like this with belts and over the knee boots and I just love how they look. I also think that a piece like this is so versatile because if I was dressing up for an evening I would wear it with over the knee boots and a leather jacket with loads of jewellery but for a more casual look, I would pair it with some white trainers and a checkered shirt around the waist. I really feel as though I am missing something like this in my collection at the minute, and with spring around the corner, I think this would make the perfect addition.
Petite Red Polo Crop Top
I love a good polo shirt, I have one from Calvin Klein that I wear all of the time for those events that aren't dressy but also not casual. When I saw this one, I just loved the looks of the shape and also the colour. Red has been huge lately and I don't think it is going to stop, but I am not mad at it, I think it is so fun, especially a piece like this. I would wear this with just a pair of jeans and some trainers with an oversized jacket for everyday but I also think that if you are going for something more formal then this is a better alternative rather than just a t-shirt.
Black Vinyl Mini Skirt
I love a-line skirts, I find them the most flattering and the most comfortable but surprisingly I am lacking a black one in my collection and so I saw this one. This one really caught my eye because it isn't just black, it has the most amazing wet-look effect. I am just really missing a black mini skirt in my collection and I think this would just look perfect with an oversized white t-shirt and some sunglasses for summer.
Tall Tan Long Sleeve Cropped Sweatshirt
Loungewear is honestly the way to my heart. Being comfortable has always been a huge priority of mine when it comes to clothes and so whenever I see something like this, I just need it. I love cropped jumpers because they are more flattering than an oversized jumper but they are still super warm. This is kind of an unnecessary piece because I have way to many cropped jumpers as it is, but I wanted to give it a little mention as the colour is gorgeous and also the fit of it seems lovely.
Black Chain Detail Cargo Trousers
I do already own the camp cargo trousers from Missguided but I saw these and just thought that they looked amazing. As much as I love my camo ones, I can sometimes find them difficult to style and I also need to wake up feeling brave to be able to wear them. This pair of cargo trousers though, look so much more wearable because they are black but they still have that oversized vibes which is what I love so much about my other pair. I think that cargo trousers are a great alternative to jeans because they are so chill and effortless, I also find that they are more comfortable than jeans. I love the chain detail on these too as I think it just adds something a little extra. I also wear a lot of silver jewellery so I think the chain would really enhance my necklaces and bracelets too.
Yellow Crepe Shift Dress
I am pretty sure that I would never be able to pull this off, but a girl can hope right? I just love the way this dress looks, it doesn't cling to anything and I think the v cut neckline just looks super feminine and cute. The colour is also to die for, I think this shade will be huge coming up to the festival season as it is just so fun but also wearable. I would pair this with a super oversized denim jacket, some pumps and oversized sunglasses for summer. I am super tempted to try this out and see if I can pull it off, but I guess we will see when it comes up to the warmer season.
Pink Oversized Long Sleeve Sweater Dress
I have been on the hunt for my perfect sweater dress for months now and it just never seems to work out as I am quite tall, especially in my upper body and so all sweater dress never fit over my bum which is such a shame. After the amount of sweater dresses I have had to send back, I don't know whether I will risk ordering this one, but it definitely looks promising. I also think that the colour is super lovely and super appropriate for spring. I love the fit of this and how the dress comes back in a bit tighter on the bottom as the jumper dress I own now doesn't do that and the fabric has started to roll up and I can't wear it without any bottoms anymore which is such a shame. If any of you have found your perfect sweater dress then let me know because I definitely want to find mine this year.
Pink Tropical Print Swimsuit
I definitely don't need anymore swimwear but when I saw this swimsuit, I thought that it would make a super cute bodysuit. The print and colours, I just think are so fun and with a pair of denim shorts on top, I think it would look amazing. I know a lot of people who wear swimsuits as bodysuits and they look amazing so I really want to give it a go for my holiday this year.
Blue Oversized Washed Denim Shirt
I have wanted a denim shirt for the longest time and with spring and summer right around the corner, I am desperate to get my hands on one. This one in particular I really loved because of the unique shade of blue. I love how it is super muted and also how it has not rips in it because I would rather do the distressing myself on a denim shirt. I would probably wear this mostly, tied around my waist so that I can layer it if I need to. I just think it is a huge staple I am missing in my collection, especially when my holiday comes around, I think I am going to need this.

Let me know if you still like these wishlist posts and maybe comment below which pieces you like the most or the ones you think I should buy, I would love to know your opinions!

Current Beauty Favourites!

As much as I love a good monthly favourites blog post, last year I found myself forcing products in the post because I didn't feel like I had enough to talk about. This year, I have decided that I am just going to do favourites blog posts whenever I feel like I have rediscovered or fallen for a selection of products. That so happens to be today, after Christmas and getting a few new things, I have been doing a lot of testing and recently I have just found myself really switching up the products I use so I thought I would share them. I do have enough beauty favourites to just do a current beauty favourites but maybe some of the later favourites posts might be more random. For now though, I am just going to be sharing some new beautiful favourites which I have really loved while stepping into the new year.
I am going to start with the makeup and I have found a new favourite foundation. Nothing comes close to my LA Girl foundation but sometimes I find that I don't want something full coverage and I want something more daytime appropriate. When I picked up The Ordinary Serum Foundation, I don't really know what I was expecting but it was so affordable and after trying it, I have been reaching for it loads. A typical Grace dilemma, I bought this in my wrong shade so I do mix this with my white foundation but it doesn't mess with the formula. This feels so hydrating and lightweight on the skin but I would say the coverage is quite light to medium. I quite like that though because the finish is so natural and skin like but your skin looks flawless, it's great. I have been reaching for this foundation a lot recently so I needed to include it in this post.

You might have seen me talk about the NYX Strobe of Genius Illuminating Palette in some of my most recent makeup look blog posts but I am not doing it on purpose, but I have found myself reaching for this loads recently. Some of the shades in this palette are quite colourful and not really for me, especially everyday, but usually I mix the two shades on the outside in the bigger pans which creates my perfect champagne highlight. This is quite glittery but with a light hand and slowly building it up, it creates the perfect glow.
I have been getting so bored of blush lately, there has just not been a blush in my collection that has been screaming my name apart from the Milani Luminoso Baked Blush. This blush has so much hype around it and rightly so because it is the most beautiful everyday blush. This shade is very peachy and neutral which is exactly what I love because it goes with everything, whether that is something super warm, cool or even colourful. You know I am not one for a shimmery blush but for some reason, this one is not super glittery, it just looks like skin and I love that. I will warn you, this blush is crazy pigmented so just be aware that you might want to apply this with a light hand.

Recently, I have been here for this super pale nude lip trend. I feel like I am so late to this, but when I use to wear nudes, they were quite dark which I still don't mind but since discovering the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Cairo I have been all over this pale nude lips. My favourite way to use this is in the centre of the lips with a darker lip liner around the edges. Probably my favourite thing about this shade is the fact that it just looks so good with  every look on the eyes and face. I have been wearing this like mad recently and I will probably continue to do so because it has quickly became one of my ride or die lip products.

I love makeup brushes just as much as I love the actual makeup sometimes, I just find that you can never have too many. They all come in different shapes and sizes with a how mixture of ways you can use them. This Beauty Professional Eye Brush Set was one of my Christmas gifts last year and I have been so in love with these brushes. I think I love these so much because of how unique they are, like the contour fan brush or the precision concealer brush, which I actually use to set my under eyes, but the shapes of these brushes are unlike anything you would be able to find from any of your mainstream brush brands. You get 8 brushes in this set and a little makeup bag which is so beautiful and also such a good value for money. According to my mum she bought these in Costco but I have linked a website that you can buy them from and I highly suggest you do because they are lovely. They are so well made and I now cannot do my makeup without them.

Again, another little Christmas present and this one has soon became the best and most efficient way to clean my make up brushes. I do not clean my makeup brushes often enough because I am so lazy and it just takes so long but after seeing a lot of people try the StylPro Makeup Brush Cleaner and Dryer I soon added it to my wishlist. My parents very kindly bought me this for Christmas and I have used it loads since. I have not linked the exact one I have but it is pretty much the exact same thing just without the logo. Anyway, this is like an electric, rotating brush handle that you attach your brushes to and then you dip them in you brush clean and water while it spins and then your brushes are clean in seconds. I am still contemplating doing a whole in depth review on this, so let me know if you want me to do that, but I mainly love this so much because usually it takes my brushes about 24 hours to dry but because this handle thing rotates so quickly, the brush fibres dry in seconds so you can use it again straight after cleaning them. If you are a makeup artist or you only have a small selection of makeup brushes, and you need your brushes to be clean and dry straight after using them once, this is the perfect things. I honestly can't imagine my life without this anymore, it has been an absolute life saver!

I love a good body lotion and Soap and Glory do some of my favourites but I had never tried the Soap and Glory Body Milk until recently and I am now obsessed. The first thing I noticed about this was how different the scent was to anything else from Soap and Glory, it smells like a sweet bakery, it's delicious. Another little thing I love is the fact you get it out through a pump, I have no idea why I love that so much but it makes disposing it so satisfying and you can also control how much product you get more than if it was in a tub. The most important thing about this body milk though is that it makes my skin feel so nourished and soft. It is quite a thick formula so it does take a little bit to sink in but nothing too bad but once it has soaked into the skin you just feel like a new person. This is definitely up there with some of my favourite moisturising body products and I don't think I am going to be switching up my body moisturiser anytime soon.

Finally for beauty products is the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion. I have heard so many people talk about this and claim that it just makes your spots disappear. Now, realistically, I knew my spots wouldn't just disappear with this, but I was curious so it quickly got put onto my wishlist and again, was a Christmas present from my parents. This is a nice spot treatment, it is a lot better than ones I had previously tried, but like I suspected, it doesn't just make my blemishes disappear. It usually helps fade my scaring or get rid of spots before that have came to the surface. I will say that if you use it every night or too often for your skin, your skin will start to get use to it and it won't do as much. I learnt this fairly quickly but I thought it was worth mentioning, so now I use it once or maybe twice a week. So far though, I am liking it and it has became a quick favourite in my skincare routine.

I would love it if you commented some of your current beauty favourites, I really hoped your enjoyed and here's to more favourites posts in 2018!

New Makeup Releases! What's On My Wishlist?!

I have been seeing so many makeup brands releasing so many new products and they all look so beautiful so I thought I would share them with you today. My wishlist when it comes to makeup is endless so it did take me a while to narrow this down but I did want to keep it short and sweet so I hope you don't mind.
Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow
It might be hard to believe, but I have never tried these from Still yet and I know I am so late on the hype but they just seem like so much money. They have released a few new shades of the Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter and Glow Liquid Eye Shadows and now I am spoilt for choice. These just seem so beautiful and I feel like I am really missing something like this in my collection at the moment. I do think that if I was to get one of these I would probably get a pale gold or a neutral shade because that way I would get the most wear out of it.
Stila Magnificent Metals Shimmer & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow
While we are on this Stila topic, they have also released the Stila Magnificent Metals Shimmer and Glow Liquid Eye Shadow, these are really similar to the first ones I mentioned but they come across as a more wearable and day to day eye product. Again these come in so many colours but I am sort of torn between the two formulas but something is telling me to get them both, we will see.
Next up is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Lipstick Nudes Set, it's no lie that I love a good nude lip but what I liked so much about this set is the unique shades. I love the purple and pink lip colours in this set as I have never seen anything like them before. I have also never tried any ABH lip products so I feel like this would be a good way to test the waters.Artist Couture Diamond Glow Powder
These are fairly new to Beauty Bay and us UK people so I really want to give them a try as I am craving a new highlighter. I have heard so many good things about the Artist Couture Diamond Glow Powder and they just seem like the most glowy, intense highlighters ever. I also think that these would make the most beautiful eye shadows for the lid. They also come in so many colours so you are spoilt for choice but let me know if you have tried these because I am so desperate to give them a go.

It is no lie that I am an eye shadow addict and this palette has just stolen my heart. It's the Violet Voss Hashtag Eye Shadow Palette, I have never tried anything from Violet Voss before but her eye shadow palettes always look so beautiful, they were just not unusual enough for me to want to buy them until I saw this one. This palette does include a lot warm tones but I love the look of the purple colours on the bottom row, they just seem so vibrant and unique. I think you could create so many different looks with this palette and with spring coming up, this is definitely on my to buy list.
Dose of Colors Sassy Siennas Palette

I obviously couldn't just mention one eye shadow palette because that would be bizarre considering how many new and beautiful eye shadow releases there have been recently and so I also have the Dose Of Colors Sassy Siennas Eye Shadow Palette on my wishlist. I have seen these little Dose of Colours palettes running around the internet over the last few months but this colour selection in particular is just so beautiful. I love the light peachy shades at the start of the palette because I feel as though you can't always find that pale peachy orange colour. I am also pretty sure majority if not all of this palette is matte which you know if you have been reading my blog for a while, I love a good matte eye shadow palette. I just find that they are so versatile and the easiest to work with but also the hardest to get right and so I am always on the hunt for a good matte eye shadow formula. This palette just seems like the most perfect warm on-the-go palette for the everyday girl and I would love to have this in my collection.
This concealer has blown up the whole makeup community at the moment and I am so desperate to get my hands on it. I am obviously talking about the Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer. This seems like the perfect dupe for the Taste Shape Tape and after seeing so many reviews and positive responses, I really want to try it out for myself. The min reason I have not picked this up yet is because I am waiting to go and get them in store because I am not too sure what shade I would be. I love that they have released so many colours for all sorts of skin tones but that does make it a little harder to guess your shade online so I am going to hang fire a little bit and wait until I am in store to swatch and choose a few shades.
The last few things I have left to talk about are all from Collection and some of these product have been out for a while but what made me put them on my wishlist was their new expansion of shades. The first one being their new shades in the Collection Lasting Perfection Foundation. I have tried the illuminating version of this foundation and I really liked it, but I did say in the review I did that the one downer was their lack of shades. Even though they are still yet to expand the shades in the illuminating version, I am so glad they have expand the shade range in this foundation. I do still think that they haven't catered for the people out there with deeper skin tones but for the pale people, they probably have released a shade for you. I definitely want to pick up this foundation and give it a try, especially because I feel like it can now catered for a lot of different people.
Probably the most exciting release so far this year is the expansion of shades in the ever so famous Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. They have only added two new shades to this concealer but one of them is super dark and the other is super fair. This excites me greatly because I have always thought that this concealer formula would make a great cream contour and so hopefully, this shade I might be able to use to cream bronze/contour with because it is a little on the warm side from the pictures I have seen. The pale shade as well is super exciting because even though their palest shade before this release still highlighted my under eyes for me, I just think that this shade can brighten up that under eye even more which I would love to experience.
The final product I am mentioning in this post is another product from Collection, but this time it is the Collection Liquid Lip Colours. From what I have tried, I have really like Collection makeup and so I am always wanting to try out more from them. When I saw that they had released liquid lipsticks I was so excited. They have only released six shades, all of which are very neutral, but I don't mind because nude lips are my most worn and are my most favourite. I love a good liquid lipstick so I really want to put these to the test.

This post was a little different for me so let me know what you thought. Also let me know which products I should pick up and review for you guys because I would love to do that.

Shimmery Green Eye Makeup - Chatty Tutorial

It was my mum's birthday a few days back and when I was getting ready to go out for a meal to celebrate, I felt really uninspired as to what I should do with my eye shadow. In typical Grace style though, I looked at what I was wearing and decided to do something with the shimmery green shade in the Morphe X Jaclyn Hill Palette. I was playing around when I created this so if it seems like I am using a lot of products, then that is why. Saying that, I really hope you like what I came up with.

I always do my makeup in a weird order, I am just constantly alternating between my eyes and base, but I started off by priming today with the Primark Primer Water. Since that primer is a little glowy, I wanted to use a more smoothing primer around the places where I tend to crease because I find that by doing this, my foundation will go on a lot better. My choice is the Freedom Pro Mattify and I focused the product on my nose, chin, under eyes and the centre of my forehead.
I then moved onto my brows and filled them in with my favourite Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade in Taupe. You know I love this, I applied it with a wing liner brush and just softly added in hair-like strokes until they were how I like them to be, full looking but not like two blocks. To keep them in place, I used the Collection Clear Mascara. Every time I fill in my brows, I always manage to go a little out of the line, so I have to carve them out and to do so I use the Hard Candy Glamoflauge Concealer in Ivory because I find that it gives a clean canvas and because it is lighter than my skin tone, I can really see where I am putting it. I am also just bring this over the whole eyelid to just so I can create a base for the eye shadow to go over. This concealer needs to be set if I want to ensure that my crease colours blend, so I am just packing on a bit of the RCMA No Colour Powder just all over where I put that concealer so that nothing creases and everything blends well.
Onto the eye shadow, I was really playing about so I did use a whole mix of shades but you really can just use what you own. I started off though with a matte white shade, mine being Whipped Cream by NYX and I packed that on the brow bone and blended it under the brow too just so it blends in with the eyelid but also gives a subtle brow bone highlight. Starting with the crease then, I used Issues by Colourpop on a super fluffy blending brush and just began to put that in the crease. To further deepen the crease, I used Sweet Life by Freedom and again, on a fluffy crease brush, just blended that in. I really made sure that these two shades were really well blended because when we go into the darker shades, you don't want the look to go muddy so really take your time on this. I then wanted to deepen the outer part of the crease and the outer corner, so I took Cocoa Bear by Makeup Geek and a darker brown shade from the Jaclyn Hill X Morphe Eye Shadow Palette and just placed it on the areas I wanted it in with a small dense eye brush, and then blended it out with a clean fluffier brush just so no other colour gets mixed in with it at first. This look did take a lot of blending and a lot of going back an forth so just bare that in mind. I then started to add in the green, so on a small, dense domed brush, I took the dark green shade from the same Morphe Palette and packed that on my outer corner but also on the outer part of my eyelid, I then took that clean blending brush again and just started to blend the edges of where I first placed the shadow. This is when I cut the crease using that same Hard Candy Concealer and I just used a really small flat brush and took my time to really get the shape on my lid. I then set that with the matte white shade from NYX and then it was time for the shimmery green. I took a flat shader brush and with that shimmery green shade from the Morphe palette, I packed it on where I had carved out the lid, not going any higher or anywhere near the outer part. To make the matte shades blend with the shimmery one, I took that brush I used with the dark green shade and just packed on a bit more of that dark green shade over where the shimmer meets the matte. The shimmery green looked great but I wanted to lighten it up a little so I took Take A Break by Colourpop and with my finger, just packed a little bit of it on top of the shimmer green but focusing it on the centre, and again, just blending it in a little with the shimmery green underneath. To highlight the inner corner I used the two lightest shades from the Ofra X NikkieTutorials Everglow Highlighter.
For the rest of the eyes, I used the Colourpop Honeydude Creme Gel Liner on the water line to open up the eyes a little after all of those dark shadows and then for mascara I used the Collection Volumax Waterproof mascara. Nothing new there but I just love this mascara. I did a few coats because I wanted the lashes to be really thick and full but also dark to match the eye shadow.
As for the rest of the face, I used the LA Girl Pro Coverage Foundation in Fair and White mixed to create my custom colour and just blended that all over the skin with a damp sponge. I then cream contoured with the LA Girl Pro Concealer in Toast and blending that out with a duo fibre face brush but then going over that, to further blend, with the damp sponge again. Since the eyes were quite intense, I wanted to make my highlighter quite bold also so I used the Iconic London Original Liquid Illuminator as a base for the powder highlight to stick to, which I will come to after, but I just put that on my cheekbones, nose and Cupid's bow and blend that out with the damp sponge again. I then concealer my under eyes and the other high point of my face with the Urban Decay Naked Concealer in Light Warm mixed with the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Light and finally, again, blending that out with that same damp sponge. Setting the under eyes with the RCMA No Colour Powder and also cleaning up that cream contour by packing some of this powder on under the cheekbones. I then set that cream contour with a bit of the Makeup Revolution Ultra Bronze Bronzer. I then set the highlighter with the two lightest shades from the Ofra X NikkieTutorials Everglow Highlighter again and this really intensified the cream highlighter. Just to finish off the face, I added a bit of blush, using the Kiko Provocative Pink Blush which is still my favourite blush but one I feel like I haven't used in a while.
Back to the eyes just to do the lower lash line, I am taking those first two shades, Issues and Sweet Life just and just blending them, nothing super specific or detail and that was all I did. I then just did a coat mascara and that was the end of the eyes.
Finally for lips I am lining them with MUA Caramel Nougat Lip Liner which is such a universal nude shade, highly recommend. For all over the lips though, I am using the NYX Cairo Soft Matte Lip Cream which has been my go to lip product recently. It is the perfect pale nude which goes so well with this eye look.
Let me know what you think of this eye look and also comment below which colour I should play around with next, I would love to try something new!
